Contracts for Educational Supervisors and Foundation Dentists were shared with us by Health Education England (HEE) in early July to reflect the move to primary employer agreements involving NHS Trusts. We’ve suggested a number of changes, elaborated on a number of comments, and pointed out issues with documents that will either be difficult or unfair and unreasonable.
Our feedback is directed to HEE in hopes that these issues will be resolved. We also requested copies of policies that are referenced in the contracts but were not provided to us. Given the short time we have been given to review them, we also reserve the right to present other issues so that these versions are not final.
We have received a number of questions from members about these contracts and processes, and as the start of the new DFT year approaches, there may be a wait for signatures. However, for now, we must advise our members to wait and see if our changes are taken into account by HEE, and we have asked them not to pressure people to sign before the contracts are not finalized. It is likely that these discussions will continue into August, and we will provide another update with answers to your questions as soon as further discussions have taken place.
