Cowboys 2022 training camp reaction: Anthony Barr speaks to the media

Saturday will be padded practice. Saturday, the intensity will be strong, and there will be contact. On Saturday, the 2022 Dallas Cowboys will be grueling in preparation for their first preseason game in nearly a week.

However, on Friday, none of the above happened. The ninth practice of training camp was a walkthrough as a way for players to get mock reps in without forcing themselves. There was still media attention, interviews and a new face. But there were no pads, contact or speed at Oxnard today. Here’s how the day went.

Today started with the news that Friday’s training would be slightly less intensive than usual.

But before the players took to the field, Kellen Moore sat down with 105.3 The Fan to discuss the nuances of the call for play.

We then received an update on Jabril Cox, with news that Jeremy Sprinkle and Jake Ferguson would be working on strength training instead of participating in the walkthrough.

Then the practice began. As it was a low effort, there isn’t much to take away from today’s action. But the WR body looked solid again and Dennis Houston cements a connection with Dak Prescott.

In case you’re wondering what a “walkthrough” looks like, here’s an example of a piece.

There was another headline from Oxnard today. The new Cowboy, Anthony Barr, was at camp.

And for now, Barr will wear number 51.

The practice itself was uneventful. But the media portion of today’s camp provided excellent information. Can you guess who was the star of today’s interviews?

Barr isn’t tempering his expectations for the Cowboys’ 2022 season and what he can do with Dan Quinn.

But other Cowboys have also caught the eye. Such as Joe Whitt Jr. praising a Dallas safety.

Simi Fehoko seems to impress the coaches.

In a relaxed practice like today, it was the perfect opportunity to spend some family time with last season’s star of hard knocks.

But rest assured, tomorrow’s workouts will be back to normal.
