Herndon, Virginia / Washington, DC – NextStop Theater Company is proud to officially announce the appointment of four outstanding professionals to the Company’s management team. Among the new appointments are Vicki Kile as the new executive director of the company, Tomoko Azuma as director of development, Melody Fetske as the next chairman of the board of directors and Hoori Ahdieh as vice chairman of the board of directors. ‘administration.

In a clear demonstration of NextStop’s passion and eagerness to fully relaunch their work and service to the Dulles Corridor community, the four women were appointed to their respective positions in early October and actively began their work on behalf of the ‘organization.

Like virtually every theatrical and artistic organization in the country, NextStop has taken a particularly difficult path through the pandemic after closing its doors on March 12, 2020. After a series of virtual and outdoor performance events during the pandemic, NextStop is d ‘First returned to indoor performances in June 2021 with “White Rabbit Red Rabbit” by Nassim Solemanpour. Over the summer, they announced an ambitious fall theatrical season. However, much of the season has been postponed to mid-August due to the resurgence of Delta Covid-19 variant cases.

Having once again adapted to rapidly changing conditions, NextStop is currently producing “The Turn of the Screw,” the second in a revised four-season “mini-season,” featuring small-cast productions with politicians. strictly enforced health and safety. About the leaders

As Executive Director, Vicki Kile will work alongside Production Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann in a shared leadership model to help guide all administrative and programmatic activities for the organization. Ms. Kile brings over 30 years of work and experience in financial management, project management and strategic planning. She most recently served as vice president in the finance division of Freddie Mac. Ms. Kile has also served the past six years on the Board of Directors of NextStop, including several terms as Chair of the Board. She resigned from her position on the Board of Directors to take up this management position. Ms. Kile is excited to use her business skills to strengthen the infrastructure that supports NextStop’s vital service to the community.

An experienced arts management and fundraising professional with over 10 years of experience in the non-profit field, Tomoko azuma is delighted to join the staff of NextStop Theater Company. She brings the knowledge, experience and skills she gained from her previous roles with the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, where, as Executive Director, she helped create, systematize and implement a plan. successful development for the organization. His experience also encompasses artistic operations and administration, financial and budget management, member recruitment and event planning. Ms. Azuma has served as a grant reviewer for various arts commissions and councils in the Washington metro area, and has served locally in Herndon as a board member and volunteer with small nonprofit organizations.

Newly elected Chairman of the Board of Directors Fetske melody is the former CFO of Folger Shakespeare Library, from which she retired in 2019. Using her retired experience to make a meaningful contribution to the community and other nonprofits, she is currently an advisor financial support for the Shakespeare Association of America and as a board member of the Architectural Review and the Historic District Review Boards for the Town of Herndon. Melody holds an active CPA, CGMA certification and often advises on accounting, organizational and not-for-profit matters. Melody has set two goals for her tenure as President, advancing the organization’s work on equity, diversity and inclusion towards a concrete action plan and integrating it into a strategic plan as the company is reimagining itself out of pandemic restrictions.

Newly elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors Hoori Ahdieh brings a impactful and diverse experience as an accomplished corporate professional in the financial services, education and IT industries. She has a long career in management consulting, program / project management, strategic analysis, consulting and process improvement with numerous businesses and nonprofits in the DC area. Hoori is deeply committed to championing and championing social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in her professional and personal life experiences. She feels privileged to have represented NextStop in diversity training workshops with theater companies in the DC area this year, and looks forward to bringing her voice and skills to cultivating a welcoming culture of inclusion and equity at NextStop. She is also a strong advocate for creation and the arts, and a proud parent of two accomplished young adults in music and the performing arts.
