The New England Patriots opened its 2022 training camp on Wednesday at the Gillette Stadium training grounds.

As is traditionally the case in the first week, no players were in the pads but there was still plenty of energy to go around.

Before practice, head coach Bill Belichick said the day would focus on the red zone, and with it newcomer DeVante Parker got the most attention.

Parker had three touchdowns that day, two in red zone drills and one of them in a tight window between multiple defenders. After a touchdown, Parker continued to celebrate in a fiery fashion with fans leading to loud applause.

The defense meanwhile had to do push-ups at the end of training.

Away from the players, a notable coach observation was Matt Patricia holding a walkie-talkie as the apparent offensive caller. The Patriots currently do not have an “official” offensive coordinator.
