Telegram, VK and YouTube are the most popular social media platforms among Russians, according to a survey by blogging agency Invite and Tiburon Research, Trend reports with reference to TASS.
The search was conducted on April 6. The sample size was 1,000 respondents aged 18-44 living in cities with more than 100,000 people who had used social media or messengers in the past month. The maximum error with a probability of 95% is about 1.85%.
“The research reviewed the image of media consumption among social media users in general. The most used social media over the past month were Telegram (89%), VK (79%) and YouTube (73%). For young users aged 18-24, the most visited social networks were Telegram and VK with the same share of 90%,” the survey revealed. Audiences aged 18-24 opted for VK more often than those aged 25-44, as the figures show: 90% versus 77%, respectively.
A quarter of respondents began to turn to social networks and messengers, which had been actively used before, and among the main leaders were Telegram and VK. In addition, 12% of users are discovering these platforms for the first time. 51% of users stayed on their usual social networks.
