Bailey Zappe was back under center for the New England Patriots in week 6 and took advantage of the opportunity again.

Zappe completed 24 of 28 passes while throwing for a career-high 309 yards and two touchdowns.

Fellow rookie Tyquan Thornton had his own performance, notching his first career touchdown reception and adding a rushing score on a throw sweep from 19 yards.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who took over with Damien Harris out with injury, rushed for 76 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns, one of which was a 31-yard dash to the end zone.

The Patriots defense continued to be stifling, holding one of the game’s best rushing offenses at just 70 yards and allowing just one touchdown.

The win puts Bill Belichick in second place on the all-time win list with 324, tying legendary Chicago Bears head coach George Halas.

“You can’t win games in this league without good players, so I’ve been very lucky to coach a lot of great players and have had a lot of great coaches over the years,” Belichick said after game. “A lot of these guys have gone on to great coaching careers and players, obviously some are going to the Hall of Fame.”
